That's a Cat

This is the story about how the cat got nine lives…..

It was a hot steamy day when the old cat died,
but she landed up in heaven so cool,
St. Peter, he was ready with a big fish fry.
"Kitty cat," he said, "this banquet's just for you."

But the cat just hissed at the angels,
Jumped up on the table yowled at everyone there.
She smashed all the dishes knocked 'em onto the lawn,
sat down and coughed up a big ball of hair.

St. Peter, well he had to hold his temper.
Said, "There's no way this behavior will do.
There can be no peace or tranquility here
as long as there's a cat such as you.

I'm gonna send you back down now to try it again.
Another free life is yours for now."
The cat lifted her leg started licking herself,
then looked up and simply said, "Meow!"

She got four lives from heaven, four lives from hell,
the ninth was a flip of a coin that would tell
who could live with a cat that would never obey.
She just throws you that look
then she goes her own way.
That's a cat!

Well the cat's next life was a feral mess.
When she died they promptly sent her to hell.
When the cat met the devil it was love at first sight,
but the devil didn't take it too well.

Well the cat jumped up on the devil's lap,
purring loudly as she fell fast asleep.
And the devil's heart it started melting,
the cat purring almost made him weep.

He said, "I cannot be a respectable devil
and have a cat purring so loud on my lap.
I don't feel half as mean, she's gonna wreck my scene
She's gotta go, I gotta send. her. back!"

She got four lives from heaven four lives from hell

then she goes her own way.
That's a cat!

Now six more lives she went up she went down,
every time kicked out of heaven and hell.
By the time she was giving up life number nine
St. Peter called the devil on his cell.

"It's time for you and me, and I'll give you two out of three,
to flip a coin to see where everything is at."
But the deal they made, no it never could play,
cause no one thought to ask the cat.

She raises hell in heaven, brings heaven to hell,
turns a heart made of granite into rubbery jell,
but don't you dare try tell her
or make her obey
cause she knows what she knows,
she goes where she goes,
she knows what she knows, when she goes,
she goes her own way.
That's a cat!
